{TH2 – a new tiny house project!}
13 Mayso – as it turns out, the owner/builder of my awesome tiny home has recently begun a new project for another soon-to-be tiny house dweller seeking a life less ordinary. of course, i asked if i could fotograph the process {and thank goodness my new “neighbour” is totally cool with that}.
i’ll do my best to update as time goes on… thankfully when i saw the big trailer pull up with this old unit on it, i was home and had free time, and i immediately ran to grab a camera.
this platform will be cut in half… and although the new tiny house {which we are referring to as “TH2”} will be half the size of this, it will still be twice the size of my home… so approximately 300-400 square feet.
i had never really fotographed the decay of a building before… and i gotta say, i kinda loved it. i can’t really explain why – but some of these images are so interesting to me… maybe the contrast of colour and exposed walls or floors… i don’t know. but there is something about “urban decay” i’ve always been somehow attracted to as an artist.

i miss my mama. today and all week. i’ve missed her since april 14th of the year 1993. this time of year is hard for me – i won’t sugar coat that. sometimes randomly, i’ll think of something that reminds me of her and it will be hard. it never gets easier. however, i find comfort when i spot a penny on the ground, or when i catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and do a “double take” because i look so much like her… and i find great comfort in knowing that i am now living in her favourite part of the world. she was absolutely in love with these rocky mountains – and it’s an honor to live here… for her and for me.
if my sweet mother judi were alive today – i would make her this simple and amazing brunch… which i’ve been eating every day for like a month now. i buy the ingredients from a local store here in town and it’s all organic, fresh, and farm-grown – you know, like how REAL FOOD SHOULD BE!!!! 😀

this dish is perfect for one – what with my cute little ramekins and all… but i do have a second one, and would love NOTHING MORE today than to be cooking for my mama and using the other one.

28 Aprhey gang, how are things? i hope you are enjoying the season, wherever you may be…
lately, i’ve decided to cut back on blogging a little… no particular reason; it just sometimes feels like a job to blog every day, and i’m trying to find other avenues in my life to expel creative energy… but i also am focusing more on blogging about the tiny home. it’s pretty amazing how this movement has taken off and how much i feel like a part of something pretty special and cool! my landlord recently started a new construction project – a tiny home! so, stay tuned as i document the adventure! also – i haven’t forgotten about the giveaway i promised back in march… i just need a little more time to gather my favourite images, so – stay tuned for more information on that, as well!
the last few weeks have gone by at what feels like lightning speed… and i have just been sitting here kind of spaced out, wondering what and how anything happened…
luckily, i have fotos to prove it 😉

… i am very happy to see the winter season come to a close…
… i’ve been throwing my polarizer sunglass lenses over my iPhone to snap cool fotos…
… and, i’ve been looking UP a lot more!…
… insect energy keeps making itself known to me…
… i’ve been receiving gentle reminders…
… things like this have been making me giggle and appreciate the little things…
… i’ve been getting more involved with farming/farmers/farm fresh food…
… the earth seems to be bubbling from below…? {maybe it’s the GRAND CROSS}
… mini frittatas and roasted fingerling potatoes have been the start of my day...
… i’ve been cleaning out old files and giggling more over stuff like this…
… i’ve enjoyed having many many delicious snuggle moments with this adorable furball…

thinkin’ about my mama today… can’t believe it’s been 21 years! ❤
something about a rainbow gives me so much comfort… maybe they make me think of my mom, or maybe they remind me of that bible verse i liked when i was a kid, or maybe the scientist in me finds them truly fascinating… and maybe, they just provide a sense of peace somehow – a beautiful reminder that everything is going to be okay… a reminder that after the storm and after the rain, there’s always a
rainbow…
