{crab and veggie frittata}

7 Nov

oh and speaking of crab recipes… i made this yummy crab and vegetable frittata over the weekend and it was SO yummy! i made two small batches and i reheat them in my air fryer {one of the best investments ever!}

i hadn’t really planned to blog about this, but as i started making it i grabbed my camera and snapped a few fotos to document. as per usual, i try to use what i already have in the kitchen and in this case it was mushrooms, peppers, and onion.

so i chopped them all up and added in my crab meat.

i added a little dried chives, old bay seasoning, salt and pepper, and nutritional yeast, then heated the mixture up in a pan with a pat of butter on low until slightly cooked…

then poured the mixture into these cute little tins, and baked for 15 minutes in a 360 degree oven…

finally, i let the frittata cool for a bit, popped it out of the tin, and put it in the fridge so i could have them for breakfast/brunch in the mornings.

i love a frittata!

thirsty thursday and foto friday – combined! {breakfast pizza and beer, nom nom}

pizza and beer, anyone?!

breakfast pizzas are popping up all over pinterest and blog sites alike, and i was so eager to try one of my own.  after 14 days of cleansing, i have been obviously rather ravenous lately.  carbs, bacon, eggs, and cheese were all that would suffice last weekend.  so, i made my own organic breakfast pizza and served it with a delicious farmhouse saison… you’re going to want to try this.  Continue reading

sometimes i like to have 2 breakfasts…

…or – one breakfast, and one brunch… 🙂

especially if it’s a weekend day and i don’t have to work.  i get up pretty early most days and i love having my cup of coffee as the sun beams in and i work on both blog images and my appetite.  typically i want a snack about an hour later and so this has become one of my favourite quick meals in the morning : i call it the BACH  {banana, almond, chia, honey} a friend helped inspire this — thanks michele! 7 May

nothing says good morning like a warm bowl of good-for-your-heart-oatmeal.  everyone has their favourite toppings…

here’s my recipe :

– oats of choice {i prefer steel cut, but these are rolled oats}

– pure maple syrup

– dried currants

– chia seeds

– ground flax meal

– ground cinnamon

sprinkle desired a mount of each over cooked oats, mix together and enjoy! 🙂
