{whatever wednesday} — the halloween dog parade

31 Oct

this is about as self-explanitory as it gets.  i was originally going to post images of the halloween parade i walked in one year in new york, but there are far too many to sift through and i’ve had a very busy week. so, the next best thing is this.  i hear they’ve cancelled the parade in manhattan this year, so i doubt they’ll be doing this either – let’s live vicariously through my fotos, shall we?!

in manhattan’s east village – typically every year – they host a “halloween dog parade” — and yep, it’s as adorable as it sounds.

here are some fotos to prove it :

quite the crowd!

love it.

she does NOT look thrilled…

this little guy was SO SWEET!  he had some fans, needless to say…

his owner was a costumer designer and made his “yoshi” outfit… so cute.

i love this – a cat dressed up as a dog, sneaking in…

even superdog needs a break…

it took me a minute to figure this very creative one out…

but then when i saw it from another angle…

bed bugs!!  so clever, and so new york.  hahaha

“wiener” dog…

hmmm…

LOVE THIS!!!  look at his little feet, heheheheeee

hola, my name is indigo montoya…

“oh hey larry, they made you come to this thing, too?!”

annnnd, the best one of the day.  he got a LOT of attention!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  and be safe out there!

Can you please come over tonight? I just bought a big tub of coconut oil and I want to do kitchen stuff with it and you seem like the PERFECT PERSON to steal my coconut oil virginity.

heheheheeee. my favourite way to use it is as a moisturizer 🙂 but sauteed zucchini is great as well as kale or chard. anything bitter will take to it nicely. don’t use it on cauliflower, or at least use a TINY AMOUNT, because it does have a flavour. i’d LOVE to come over are you kidding me?! i could plan a trip now, i am mobile 😉

I want to sautee some asparagus in it. And then eat it with YOU!

I’ve only ever used it on my hair and lips before, so this is new and exciting.

use it all over!! eat it by the tablespoon, it’s good for hair skin nails as well as a healthy heart. asparagus sounds interesting… i’ve used coconut milk with asparagus before… let me know how it turns out!
