Your blog makes me want one, but then I wonder if I can make some of these things with the blender we received for our wedding. I’d hate to invest in this amazing machine if I’m going to let it sit as much as the other one does. Although, the self-cleaning feature does make it attactive!

you can make amazing things with other blenders. there is just nothing like the vitamix. the consistency you get, the other abilities like making your own nut butters {which i need to do and blog about!} or soups – it even crushes ice in like 4 seconds! and i know people who have had theirs for literally decades! try your blender for a while, but i’m just sayin.. this thing is in its own category! 🙂

perfect timing … been waiting all month for the 28th. don’t wanna say too much jinxing myself, but on that day Vitamix will be offered as a daily deal from Canada’s version of QVC. keeping my fingers crossed it’s sweet enough of a deal to push me off the proverbial fence … and this post is helping, thanks Audrey.

I got mine 3 years ago. Love it, love it, love it! I use it practically every day. Unless it’s a super blender aka high-performance blender like Vitamix, your wedding gift blender is no match (sorry naturallybrigid). You will have no need for your old blender and mixers after Vitamix. It does EVERYTHING. I throw whole flax seeds in there with milk, egg and oil and it will pulverize the seeds. Then I add my pancake flour with some strawberries and banana and you have yourself a really great and healthy pancake mix! Visit Jamba Juice and you’ll see that all their blenders are VITAMIX (the commercial version).

you’re so right about jamba and other places using the vitamix. they know what’s up! i’m so eager to try your pancake mix idea! i typically use my vitamix for smoothies and the occasional ice cream or to grind nuts, etc. but i know it can do SO MUCH! i’ve always been a little intimidated with baking, but i’m ready to experiment!! 🙂

I agree…the vitamix is absolutely the BEST thing you can get, hands down! I have two of them, one for my country house and believe it or not, I got the second one for 8.99!!!!!!!! Yes, EIGHT dollars and 99 cents. It was at a goodwill store, and it was brand new, never used. I snatched that one up real fast and couldn’t believe my luck!
I make green smoothies for myself and my husband every morning, and wouldn’t be without it. It can make soup recipes in five minutes flat, hot and ready to eat.
Your creamsicle recipe sounds so very good, I’m going to try that next!

holy smokes that is QUITE A STEAL! good for you! i thought about buying another one but that’s just outlandish. no single person needs TWO vitamixes! and i don’t mean to judge if you’re single and have two. who cares 😉 i just got an email from a friend with some soup recipes… that is one thing i haven’t seemed to perfect yet!

Between my husband and myself, and the three kids of his that are still at home, we cook quite a bi, lol! I would NEVER have bought another one if I hadn’t found this one, but it certainly made life sweet, so I don’t have to lug the vitamix up to the country house (it’s been in my family for over 30 years), So now we can enjoy having smoothies and other deliciousness in a beautiful country environment….:) 🙂

So what are some of the advantages of the Vitamix? I love to cook and have…urm damaged other food processors trying to make nut butter before…lol So this machine does the trick? What else can it do?

      hi, happy!
the vitamix surpasses any blender or food processor i’ve ever experienced. 4 razor-sharp stainless steel blades and an extremely powerful motor make this 7-year warrantied beast a tremendous value! everyone i know who has one told me they’ve had it close to 10, 15, even 20 years! it makes ice cream, soup, pulverizes your smoothies into the best consistency ever – it’s really really worth the investment alone for the smoothies, i swear! 🙂 and it does much more that i haven’t even played with. you can grind whole wheat berries to make your own flour, dough, etc. it’s just incredible – i should be paid to promote them – hA!
