if you haven’t had these delicious treats, i highly recommend you try them. perhaps it’s the fact that i’m about 2/3 english, but i just love sitting and shelling english peas. and of course, eating them 😉 i’ll have a few recipes featuring these tasty little morsels next week, so stay tuned!
and, eating them pretty much makes me wish i had my own farm…
and i get this visual of walking out in the early morning light {my favourite} with a long flowing dress on and an apron, no doubt, because i’ve just finished cooking breakfast including fresh squeezed OJ and homemade waffles with chia seeds that i’ve also grown myself…
i take a deep breath to inhale the morning dew and the fresh air. i saunter over to my english pea section in the ground and i exclaim, “hooray!” then i reach down to grab a huge handful off the vine and skip over to the porch, where i’ll sit and shell each one carefully and enjoy the flavour and crunch of those little peas inside…
mmm, the simple life — that’s what english peas remind me of. 🙂
So incredibly beautiful and a revelation for folks who’ve not had fresh peas. Mine often don’t make it to the table and my kids LOVE to shell them. I’d never have predicted that I would be a pea lover, but canned peas early in life will do that to you. Love your pics!
