this weekend i helped work at the winter x games in buttermilk. it was pretty unbelievable.
however, i didn’t go to see the athletes or even watch any of the event, and yet i had access to almost every venue and space on the mountain… what exactly then, was i doing at x games?!
sorting through this enormous pile of trash :
i’m not even kidding. there were 2 other huge piles just like this in the two days i helped…
i was part of the “green team” for the weekend – sorting through waste to divert it from a going to a landfill. the goal was to divert 80%, and i believe we came damn close! that team is so amazingly dedicated!!!
local artists decorated these trash-bins to highlight environmental awareness…
there was also a scavenger hunt involved…
which the kids totally loved, and it was so great to see some enthusiasm regarding the environmental program, and how to help make the earth a better place!
i couldn’t help but snap a few fotos of my experience…
it is such a huge event and i experienced it in a very unique way, indeed!
but my goodness, is it still beautiful to be up in these hills!! and i was so grateful for nice weather for the majority of the time we were outside!
what did you guys do this weekend?! 🙂
What an important effort you participated in! Good for you!
