i had never seen anything like this and i was so happy to get immersed right in the middle of it!
remember last friday i wrote about the coolest cattle?! well, as i was fotographing them that day, i inadvertently got stuck behind the twice-a-year cattle round-up that takes place here in town. i was pretty much cracking-up the entire time and also felt so privileged to have witnessed this event, camera-in-hand.
it was the day of the eclipse, too… and the sunset was unbelievable!
i know they’re “just cows”, but i love them. and what i want to know is…
how the heck did they round up all these cows without me noticing? one can’t get off this road, so-to-speak, and i had just turned around to head back down the hill when i saw this…
hundreds of cows being herded together – complete with cattle dog and cowboys alike…
so i followed them… mostly because i had no choice 😉
{these guys opted out, it appears…}
about half way down, i saw a girl sitting on a fencepost and i asked, “is this just normal?” and she replied, “it happens twice a year – once going down, and once going up…”
so glad i have a camera, i thought.
oh, hey dude!
here they are in town… it was a good 30 minutes or so that i was in the car, just watching the whole thing and laughing hysterically…
as a line of cars piled up behind us… i was the head of the train!
and they straight up went through town… not sure where they ended up, but i’m just glad i had a camera and glad i was accidentally there to witness the whole thing 😉
So glad you had your camera with! Beautiful and what an experience!

How wild is that! So cool, and so glad you had your camera (and talent! lol) to capture it!

They’re over here, on CR 100 (Catherine Store Road), just east of town, at the end of Main Street!

There’s a black one limping; she has been for a few weeks. I’m ready to go find the ranchers to see what’s up with that. She strains to walk…looks so painful.
