hi sweet lady yoga. thank you for stopping by and for taking time to leave such a kind comment! and thank you for appreciating 🙂 – it’s always a wonderful thing. june 29th – so you’re a cancer… what are you looking forward to most this coming year?!

Great question. Well, as my blog suggests, I’m turning 40 this year. For some odd reason, I feel like something dramatic is going to happen in the short time between now and June. I’m not sure what and am open to whatever the “universe” has in store for me. I feel like whatever it is, it’s going to “shake up” my life in a good way. Likely to affect my career, which state or country I live in, my love life, etc. Got my fingers crossed.
What sign are you? 🙂

i’m a scorpio/sagittarius cusp and am cancer rising. there is a lot of amazing stuff happening on an astrological level and so you’re “feeling” is right on! i look forward to following you and seeing whatever it is unfold. i’m much feeling the same way about my career… i believe this is the year when it all takes a huge turn. the key is – we must remain open 🙂 so glad i found you!

thanks for liking my post, but I should mention that the salad contains honey, not exactly the most appropriate thing for vegans. (as with most of my recipes, omitting one or two things makes it vegan, so it’s not all bad.)
nice space you have here. the photography is stunning.

hi there. thanks for stopping by and for the kind comment!
listen, i don’t subscribe to anything that puts me in a categorized box. i live based on “feeling” and if i feel the need to eat mostly vegan, i do. however, i’m a huge proponent for HEALTH and i refuse to cut something out of my diet just because it’s not “vegan” or whatever… i enjoy honey a LOT, it’s loaded with health benefits. and i respect and admire the bees.
i don’t eat vegan because of animal rights, i eat mostly vegan because i FEEL best when i do. 🙂 just wanted to clarify.

that’s cool with me, Audrey. 🙂
there was a photo scandal a while back where someone discovered that a blog (or maybe it was a website … I don’t quite recall which) that used meat in its photos, which were purportedly of vegetarian and/or vegan dishes. I realize it’s a sensitive subject for some people, which is why I am exceptionally careful about tagging posts appropriately (why for instance, why the post you “liked” is tagged vegetarian and not vegan, if that makes any sense). I just wanted to be honest.
anyway, I look forward to reading more from you. 🙂

i respect and appreciate your honesty, “stash” 🙂 for real, it’s refreshing and i fully understand the gray area in anything with controversy or delicate properties such as veganism or the like. food is extremely personal. part of why i started my blog was to kind of “break the mold” if you will – get people thinking outside of the box… the key is to listen to yourself, to your body and what it tells you. i may not eat “vegan” forever, but for right now, it is what i feel serves my being best. everything i cook and fotograph is completely REAL and untouched and i don’t even stylize, because it just doesn’t feel as authentic to me… i digress 🙂 thanks again!

Hey there Audrey! You liked a post on my blog so I wanted to check out your blog and say, “Hi.” I’m so glad I did – your blog is wonderful! We also have a lot of things in common. I love that you’re into meditation – maybe you can inspire me with that one. I’ve been attempting to develop a daily meditation practice, but I keep letting life get in the way. People who meditate are so pleasant to be around – they just have good vibes. I know one day I’ll become one of them, but I’m not there yet. Celeste 🙂
LikeLike
hi celeste! i like your name. thank you for taking time to stop by food and foto and for writing such a nice comment! i was vegan for a few months not long ago, but found it very hard on my body… however i fully support and eat a mostly plant-based diet. i have been doing meditation and yoga for about a 2 years now. i started with yoga and then slipped into a meditation practice easily… it’s really just about being aware of your breath. there are no rules, there is no “level” you need to reach, for me it was simply about breathing and awareness. i admit that i haven’t been meditating as much lately the way i used to, but i find that i can be in a meditative type state in other ways, now…
my advice to you is to KISS – KEEP IT SERIOUSLY SIMPLE 🙂 that’s my philosophy on everything. find a place in nature or in your home that you can designate for meditation and clearing. try to keep that space sacred. the key is to be able to find your own presence among life’s many energies constantly bombarding us. so just sit and breathe. try it for 5 minutes a day for a week. you probably won’t be able to turn off your thoughts immediately, so go easy on yourself. we can ALL take 5 minutes a day. start there. just sit comfortably and breathe.
i wish you well and look forward to following your blog.

Just found your blog and love that you are into organic methods and supporting local farmers. I try to do the same, buying local or Scottish produce such as Milk, cheese, butter in order to support Scottish farmers. We live ( and hubbie works) on an organic veg farm so we gets lots of lovely organic veg. Any veg I can’t get I try to buy organic or Scottish. I’m looking forward to trying some of your recipes. I’m quite new to not only blogging, but cooking and baking so i’m always looking for new, tasty and simple recipes.
